Road passages constructed as part of future motorway connecting Croatia and Hungary
The Challenge
As part of a larger motorway construction project in Croatia, there was a need for building two road passages. The project is a part of bigger expressway that will connect the northwestern part of Croatia and the cities of Bjelovar and Virovitica with the Hungarian border and the corridors of other European roads.
The Solution
The two road passages are under the expressway and the future highway. ViaCon’s technology was chosen for the construction because of its flexibility and the simplicity of extending the structures to accommodate the next phase of the project.
The design specified that materials and structural details should require minimal maintenance and provide full functionality for a sufficiently long duration.
