Faster bridge replacement, safer crossings

A ViaCon bridge rebuild kept traffic moving and wildlife connected – installed in just 12 days.

The Challenge

A deteriorated bridge on the federal highway B183a, west of Delitzsch in Germany, needed replacement to keep a busy route safe and operational. The solution had to be durable, quick to build, and cause minimal disruption while preserving the wildlife crossing beneath to improve safety for both people and animals.

The Solution

ViaCon supplied a modular bridge using ViaPlate 500. The approach allowed rapid onsite assembly with predictable quality, reducing construction time and disturbance compared to traditional methods. The wildlife corridor remained part of the design, creating a reliable connection between nature and modern infrastructure. Net assembly time on site was 12 working days.

The ViaCon Advantage

  • Shorter build, less disruption: Modular installation reduced time on site and traffic impact.
  • Safer mobility for people and animals: The wildlife crossing supports ecological connectivity and lowers collision risk.
  • Durable and costefficient: A robust, longlasting solution with efficient installation.
  • Lower site impact: Prefabricated components and a clean build process minimized effects on the surrounding area.
