ViaCon delivered a 1,481 m³ Treat solution for a project in Saint-Étienne, combining fast installation with reliable watertight storage for both stormwater and polluted fire extinguishing water.
The challenge
For the SAINT ETIENNE – TECHNICENTRE SNCF project, customer DEMATHIEU & BARD needed a storage solution capable of handling both stormwater and polluted fire extinguishing water.
A key requirement was that the system had to be 100% watertight, as it would be used to store polluted water in the event of a fire. This placed high demands on the design, manufacturing quality and connection method. In addition to performance, the customer also needed a solution that could be installed quickly and safely on site.
The solution
ViaCon delivered a Treat solution with a total storage volume of 1,481 m³, scheduled for delivery in January 2026.
The structure was designed with a diameter of 2800 mm, a plate thickness of 2.5 mm and a zinc coating, and it used flanged connections to ensure reliable assembly and long-term watertightness.
To support safe and efficient site handling, the solution was also equipped with lifting hooks. The full system was assembled in just 1.5 days, helping the customer save time during installation.
The ViaCon advantage
ViaCon France was chosen because it was the only supplier able to offer flanged connections for this application, providing a reliable solution with the required watertight performance.
All welds were checked with watertightness testing in the plant, giving the customer added confidence in the final quality of the system. The flanged connection also simplified on-site assembly by providing a secure and dependable seal without the need to apply sealant inside the tank, saving valuable installation time.
The solution was appreciated for its fast installation, supported by 20-metre hose lengths, as well as for the additional safety provided by the lifting hooks.
